By Air: Cochin International Airport, 141 km away, is the closest airport to the resort. The airport has excellent connectivity with regular flights to and from major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.
By Rail: Kottayam Railway Station, located 107 km away, is the nearest railway station with good rail connectivity. Trains from several cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi stop here. Madurai Railway Station is another good option and is about 140 km from Spice Village.
By Road: Thekkady is located about 108 km from Kottayam and 155 km from Cochin.

Change of Date: If you need to amend your travel dates, 1 change in dates can be done at no additional charge, provided that the change is made at least 30 days prior to the original arrival date and is subject to availability for the newly requested dates. Please note that the final decision is at the discretion of the Hotel.
Payment: 100% of the payment amount will be required to be paid at the time of booking.
Hotel Cancellation Policy: All bookings can be cancelled and qualify for a 100% refund in the form of AVcredits, provided it is done strictly 15 days prior to check-in date; for the period 21 December to 10 January, it would be 30 days. Post that, any cancellation, including a no-show on the day of arrival, will incur a full payment. Refunds in the original mode of payment would be possible with a 5% transaction charge.
Validity: Each package is valid for two adults.
Extra Guest Policy: Where applicable, an extra adult can stay at a surcharge mentioned in the extra person policy
Child Policy: One child under the age of 6 years may stay free of charge in existing bedding. A child between 6 and 12 years may stay at a surcharge of Rs. 1350 + GST (includes bed + breakfast), a child above the age of 12 would be charged Rs. 1650 + GST
Pet Policy: Dogs, cats and birds are considered as “pets”. Charges for accommodating the pet is INR 2500/- which includes the pet food once a day and special cleaning of the room. Only 1 pet weighing less than 15 kgs will be allowed per room at any time
Activities: Certain activities are subject to weather conditions and age restrictions.
For cancellations necessitated by force majeure situations (such as Government mandate lock down or closures), the booking will be rescheduled for a future date.

Periyar Tiger Reserve: Located in the southern region of the Western Ghats and spread across an area of 777 sq. km of forest land, the Periyar Tiger Reserve is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna including elephants, bison and Malabar hornbills. The reserve offers an array of interesting eco-tourism activities including Tiger trails, nature walks and day long hikes. About 15 minutes from Spice Village, the resort organises treks with forest guides who all belong to the surrounding indigenous tribal communities.
Nature Trails: Start your day with a naturalist-led nature walk to explore the exquisite flora and fauna around the 12 acres property of Spice Village. The Thekkady region is blessed with beautiful jungles and is a bird watcher’s delight. The guide will help you spot a number of avifauna as well as insects and trees. The refreshing climate and abundance of life forms, makes this one of the more popular tourist spots in Kerala.
Spice Plantation Visit: Walk through the neighbouring spice plantations and experience the process of plucking the almost ripened peppercorns. Explore the area that was the starting point of the centuries old spice trade as the air fills with the refreshing aroma of the various spices combined with the crisp, clean mountain air.
Bamboo Rafting: Experience rafting on the Periyar Lake on a bamboo boat. A must-do for nature lovers, adventure seekers and photography enthusiasts as animals like elephants, sambar and gaurs can be sighted close to the shores of the lake. Enjoy and take in the stunning panoramic view of the forest clad hills around the lake.
Paper-Making: Try your hand at paper-making at the Spice Village’s paper-making centre. The ‘pulp’ used to make the eco-friendly paper is made from all the paper waste at the resort. From discarded boxes from the kitchen to old fabrics and torn paper, it is all recycled to make note-pads, menus and even the welcome garlands.
